Abstract

This research introduces an integrated methodology combining OTSM-TRIZ and the Design Structure Matrix (DSM) to enhance project planning and risk management in mining projects. OTSM-TRIZ, through a Network of Problems (NoP), systematically addresses complex challenges, while DSM analyzes task dependencies, optimizing resource allocation and sequencing. Applied in a real-world Chilean mining company with over 120 workers, the methodology improved outcomes by reducing trial-and-error iterations and boosting efficiency. Workers gained valuable insights into managing project complexity. NASA-TLX was used to explore usefulness authors’ proposal.
