Abstract

The use of remote sensing system tools allows information processing to be similar to that of a human expert. Diagnosing and mapping information on vegetation conditions by measuring plant vigor is essential for recognizing damage to crops damaged by severe flooding. This study proposes a methodology using images from the Copernicus Sentinel 2B satellite and a fuzzy inference system. Through the calculation of five indices, the metrics obtained by the Disaster Vegetation Damage Index (DVDI) and the Normalized Difference Moisture Index (NDMI) provide notable results for the disaster areas. This allows the information to be examined through five proposed levels to identify the damage and specific data regarding the quantification of the damaged cultivated area. Information that can be used for decision making and studies related to the topic.
