Recommendations for the design and operation of electrical installations in critical infrastructures

Abstract

This paper presents a good practices guide of design, execution

and operation of electric energy supply installations for critical

infrastructure or equipment. The objective is to diminish the

risk or duration of supply interruptions, due to both internal

and external causes. The paper provides an updated overview

based on authors’ professional experience. Suggestions are

included for internal distribution system and local power

supply systems. Their influence in installation reliability is also

commented.
