Articles
Incluirá los resultados de investigaciones originales, que pueden ser teóricas, simuladas o experimentales. Se deberán indicar claramente los objetivos propuestos y los resultados obtenidos o esperados, así como su originalidad. Con una extensión máxima de 5.500 palabras, incluyendo el resumen y las referencias, contendrá un máximo de 40 referencias bibliográficas, con figuras o tablas adecuadas a las dimensiones y extensión de una publicación impresa. La investigación puede ser básica o aplicada, siendo preferible esta última. Si es básica, se deberá proponer al menos el posible uso práctico de sus conclusiones.

Scope and Rationale
High-technology industries are increasingly exposed to rapid commoditization cycles driven by digitalization, modular product architectures, globalized supply chains, and platform-based competition. As technical knowledge becomes embedded in standardized components, tools, and production systems, competitive advantage often shifts from core invention toward the engineering and governance of complementary assets.
This Special Issue aims to explore how firms and industrial ecosystems respond to high-tech commoditization from both engineering and strategic perspectives. We seek contributions that integrate technological design decisions, digital transformation processes, and supply chain configurations with strategic and economic outcomes.
The issue particularly welcomes research grounded in industrial and engineering contexts, including manufacturing, energy systems, mobility, robotics, semiconductors, advanced materials, and Industry 4.0 environments.
Topics of Interest
Key topics may include (but are not limited to):
• Engineering design strategies (modularity, architecture, standards) to mitigate commoditization
• Platform engineering and ecosystem governance in industrial systems
• Digitalization, AI, and data ownership as sources of defensibility
• Servitization and digital service innovation in technology-intensive sectors

Special ISSUE: Simulation and Artificial Intelligence for Optimization and Decision-Making in Industrial Systems (September 2026)

Discrete, continuous, hybrid, or agent based simulation—together with predictive models, recommendation systems, optimisation algorithms, digital twins, and explainable AI approaches—makes it possible to address problems of planning, control, logistics, systems design, reliability, and sustainability with a level of accuracy that is difficult to achieve using traditional methods. This combination is driving a new generation of more efficient, resilient, and adaptive processes.
This special issue aims to bring together research addressing both methodological developments and practical applications of simulation and artificial intelligence to support decision making in industry, engineering, and advanced services.
Topics of interest

Submitted manuscripts must qualify as research papers in the fields mentioned above and comply with the requirements specified on the DYNA Journal website. Papers may be written in Spanish or English.

Accepted articles may be published online immediately before the closure of the special issue, in accordance with DYNA’s editorial policy.
