In a previous paper, t he general aspect and applications of high power
electronics were reviewed. Several applications ranging from industry, transport,
construction, communications, informatics, domestics to electromedical instruments
were presented. The use of power electronics was only limited to the roll of feeding
electronic equipment and setups. The managed power ranged from more than five
thousand megawatts; in the high voltage DC electric transmission, to tenths of a watt in
micro-power converters for mobile telephones and medical apparatus. In this second
(and last) paper, the medium and low power applications, normally restricted in weight
and size, are reviewed.
